Important info from the Committee to Elect Qualified Judges
On November 4th voters will be faced with a ballot containing 70 judges up for retention and several contested judicial races. There are many bar groups evaluating these judges and judicial candidates. The Committee to Elect Qualified Judges uses the judicial evaluations done by the Chicago Council of Lawyers. For the November 4th election, the Committee to Elect Qualified Judges urges voters to vote NO on two judges seeking retention and against one judicial candidate. All three were found Not Qualified by the Council as well as Not Qualified or Not Recommended by at least five lawyer groups rating the judges.
They are:
Edward Pietrucha (Vote No - ballot number 171): Found Not Recommended for retention by five bar groups.
Cassandra Lewis (Vote No - ballot number 221): Found Not Recommended for retention by eight bar groups.
Laura Morask - running for judge in the 12th Subcircuit. Do not vote for Laura Morask. Found Not Qualified or Not Recommended by 10 bar groups.

Voteforjudges.org, brought to you by Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice, is a nonpartisan website designed to give voters of Cook County the information they need to make informed choices about judges on the November 4th general election ballot.
On the November 4th ballot, 70 judges will be seeking retention in addition to the several contested subcircuit judicial races. At voteforjudges.org, voters will find evaluations for judges and judicial candidates from 11 bar associations (including those of the Council) and by the Suburban Bar Coalition. Voters will also find information about judicial elections and media articles about the judicial races.
When it comes to learning about our judges, don't wait until the election is over. We hear too often from people who say that they would have voted for the judges if they had sufficient information.
