Judicial Performance and Elections
- Senator Lindsey Graham, speaking at the ABA Annual Meeting this week, said that judicial qualifications should count more than politics.

Criminal Justice
- The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 31 is suing to block is suing to block Gov. Quinn’s plans to shut down several correctional facilities on the grounds that the closures would create unsafe working environments for its members
Thursday morning, WBEZ reported that Gov. Quinn has blocked access to Vienna prison in southern Illinois, which is said to have unsafe conditions for prisoners.
