Social Justice
- The Washington Post has an editorial on an announcement from Rohit Chopra, ombudsman for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, that “on the basis of the complaints the CFPB has received, he is concerned that we face a student-loan-servicing sequel that will rival the home-mortgage crisis that helped lead to the financial collapse of 2008.”
Public Citizen has additional information and links concerning this first annual report from the ombudsman for student loans. Here are Mr. Chopra’s entries at the CFPB blog.
- Next week is National Pro Bono week. The Chicago Bar Association has many events planned and we always have opportunities to serve.
The NYTimes ran an editorial about pro bono and the new pro bono requirement in New York for law students.
